As we wrap up the 75th anniversary of Wallside Windows, we’re looking back on a wonderful year of celebrating this milestone with our customers and community. This year was especially exciting, supporting our Detroit sports teams and giving back to our communities.
The celebrations kicked off in January when we partnered with Life Remodeled to provide and install 75 custom vinyl replacement windows in 15 Detroit homes over two days. The project was part of the nonprofit’s two-year effort to help revitalize the city’s Durfee-Central neighborhood.
Then in March, the Wallside team installed energy efficient windows for Flint resident Trisha Hill and her family. They were nominated and won our 2019 Gift of Warmth giveaway when we partnered with the Detroit Pistons to provide. On installation day, Trisha was excited to be surprised with more than new windows. Nominations are now open for our 2020 Gift of Warmth program.
As the weather warmed up, we were thrilled to continue our 75th anniversary celebrations with the Detroit Tigers. We marked Opening Day at Comerica Park with an offer for Tigers fans to get half off their Lyft ride home. Then on April 29, 25 Wallside Windows employees and family members participated in the third annual I Ran the D 5K run/walk, which started and ended at Comerica Park.
Wallside participants ran and walked a route through local streets that resembled a D. Employees and our Chief of Staff Adam Blanck enjoyed being active together to support youth sports programs with proceeds going to the Detroit Tigers Foundation. Our work with the Tigers continued into the fall as Wallside Windows Co-Owner Stanford Blanck threw out the first pitch at the Sept. 10 game.
We also made sure to show appreciation for everyone who keeps our Taylor, Michigan, factory running smoothly with high-quality products and the team that ensures our customers are happy. On June 26, the Taylor Summer Festival opened a day early to welcome Wallside’s team of installers, sales professionals, office staff, measurers, factory employees, and their family and friends. More than 1,000 people attended the special evening of festival food, music, rides and games.
In October, we teamed up with the Pistons again to give back to local sports fans with a buy-one, get-one free offer for tickets to several games. Also in October, the factory had its first Pink Out with staff sporting the color for breast cancer awareness. Wallside team members made donations to support the American Cancer Society. We’re wrapping up the year and our 75th anniversary feeling grateful and accomplished.
We’re excited for all that’s to come in our 76th year and beyond, and hope you’ll be part of it! Contact Wallside Windows for your free estimate today online or by calling 1-800-521-7800.
