The trim paint is chipping. The glass is foggy. And your old windows just don’t keep the chill out like they used to. You’ve decided — it’s time to call Wallside!
So what happens next? Here’s what you can expect as a homeowner when you’re expecting new windows.
First visit
After you’ve contacted Wallside to schedule your initial free estimate, a sales representative from Wallside will come to your home to find out what style of windows you’re interested in and to discuss current promotions and other details, like what kind of sills you’d prefer. The entire sales process, from quoting the job to writing the work order, will typically take less than an hour.
Jen and Rob Dawson recently had Wallside Windows installed in their home in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The windows they replaced were original to the house, which was built in 1961, and became drafty in the winter. After polling their friends on Facebook and talking to Rob’s parents, who purchased windows from Wallside about 15 years ago, the couple decided to call Wallside themselves.
“The salesman that came to our house was so great,” said Jen Dawson. “He had worked for Wallside for over 30 years. He was so kind, great with our kids and our dog, and you could tell that he wasn't trying to oversell us.”
Measure visit
Within approximately two weeks of your purchase, a Wallside Measure Technician will come to your home to record exact measurements for manufacturing your custom Wallside Windows and additional details for the installation crew to ensure that they are fully prepared to install your windows.
Installation day
On the morning of the day your windows are scheduled to be installed, your installation crew chief will contact you between 7 and 9 a.m. with an estimated arrival time. When the crew arrives, they’ll cover the area around the windows to protect it from dust and debris.
The Dawsons were impressed by the crew that came to install their new windows. “The installers were professional and clean,” said Jen Dawson.
Wallside installers will remove your old windows, then install and adjust your new windows. They will insulate each window with QUAD® WINDOW foam that keeps out air and water for the most energy efficient insulation, then caulk the exterior of the window to ensure a proper seal. They will then re-measure your windows to make sure they are within the correct tolerances and test each window to make sure it opens and closes properly. After cleanup, the installer will take the time to show you how your new windows work and answer any questions you may have.
Our expert installers will typically install your new windows in one day, often in just a few hours.
The entire process was “much better and easier than we expected,” said Dawson, and she and her husband were thrilled with the finish product.
“Our house felt like a whole new house!” said Dawson.
