“Throughout the years, we make product upgrades, so what works on today’s products might not work with old parts,” says Dave Ball who’s managed the plant since 2009. That’s why there’s such a need for the parts room that makes it possible to service the older windows. Some of the parts in the room are the last of what’s available, Dave says.
Parts Coordinator Steve Gilliaum mans the room. Steve keeps the room organized and helps service technicians find what they need. Every part is labeled with a name, photo and description in a binder, as well as a location that coincides with where it can be found in the room. This helps ensure that customers get the right part, even when there are plenty that look similar.
