Have you spotted our new sign on I-94 yet?
Michiganders returning home from vacation or business travel can expect to be greeted by this message as they drive along I-94 from Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
Wallside Windows recently installed a brand-new sign to mark the location of our Taylor, Mich. factory – and it’s not far from DTW. This summer, the sign’s digital LED display has already featured a variety of messages. It’s just one way we’re saying thank-you to installers as part of the Wallside installer appreciation event. Other messages greet visitors on their way to and from the airport.
“We pride ourselves on being The Factory,” said Adam Blanck, Wallside Window’s chief of staff and grandson of founder Martin Blanck. “We have a very visible location along I-94, but our old sign was still easy to miss. We wanted to make people aware that we’re right here - in Taylor.”
Formerly occupied by RCA, our 72,000-square-foot factory building became home to Wallside Windows in 1992. The company was originally located on Schaefer Road in Detroit. About 140 employees currently work at our Taylor factory, and Wallside Windows employs hundreds of contractors.
Installing a new sign gave Wallside Windows the opportunity to work with another great Michigan-based company, MI Custom Signs in Taylor.
“When we get a chance to enhance the businesses in our own backyard, we are thrilled to work with them!” said Rene Pare, operations manager at MI Custom Signs. “Especially when it’s a company known for their quality work and service. Since we embody a similar 'can do' attitude, and we share a Taylor, Michigan address, it seemed fitting that we were honored with supplying a new EMC (Electronic Message Center) to Wallside Windows. We are looking forward to seeing the creative ways they use the technology, as this is the first message many travelers to Detroit will see.”
